Henri is a family of lighting with modern and refined shapes punctuated by the curved and uniform lens. This lighting fixture fits and adapts perfectly to any space, offering various outputs and different finishes.

Each year, a brainstorm is organized, bringing together certain divisions of Acuity Brands. The goal is to share ideas for concepts, start conversations between employees, and possibly fill the roadmap.

During these brainstorms, I came up with the concept of a simple luminaire that would reuse a lens and an assembly, similar to a Eureka fixture that was developed in 2020. This concept was subsequently chosen to be part of the roadmap.

Based on the initial concept proposed to the group brainstorm, the designer in charge of the project refined the proportions, according to the aesthetic and functional needs of the final luminaire.

We noticed during the assembly of the prototypes that the illumination was not uniform. There were some hotspots and shadows, due to the mixing chamber, which was very thin.

After studying the solutions available to us, we opted to change the board composed of tiny lenses, which helps with the diffusion of the board.

This solution made it possible to
1) Reduce the price of raw materials
2) Avoid changing all of the parts and initial proportions
3) Make assembly easier and faster.
