Wabi-sabi is a tableware set designed for high-end Japanese restaurants.
The set consists of three stackable dishes: a reversible plate (flat/hollow), a sushi tray, a small plate with an included support sauce soy as well as Japanese chopsticks and a chopsticks rest.
Inspired by traditional Japanese cultural traditions, this collection highlights a diversity of textures creating a contrast between the controlled and the natural imperfections of materials.

Eating at a Japanese restaurant is often a visual and taste experience.
However, most dishes do not participate in the identity of the proposed dish.

The challenge here was to reinforce the identity of these dishes while keeping an agreement with the food served.

To match the restaurant’s vision and, more broadly, of the food culture, I searched for an inspiration that could give aesthetic character to the dish while serving its functionality.

Water is a natural element that has great symbolism in Japan. It represents the passing of time, the contemplation of the present moment, and what nature offers us.
